Undergraduates of the Obafemi Awolowo University find some parts of the campus conducive for after-class sex

At the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, the “Admin Basement” provides the ambience for all that is base about life on the campus. What is called the Admin Basement is an expansive space under the university’s massive Administrative Building.
During the day, the basement is hive-busy, as students stream in to patronise the slew of shops offering photocopying services. It also offers generous space for a lazy afternoon, a magnet for students who need a break from the tedium of academics.
At night, however, it is a lovers’ rendezvous, where lust replaces the idle chats of the daytime. Activities usually begin with a few couples strolling in at the early hours of the evening. Nothing heavy happens until it gets dark. At about 8 pm, all inhibitions disappear under the cover of the night. Kisses are exchanged, while groping at sensitive body parts move into overdrive.
A shouting distance from the basement is the Motion Ground, a spacious playground by the university’s Amphitheatre. Like the basement, it features idle talks in daytime. But its frequenters limit themselves to heavy petting because they could be exposed by vehicle head lamps.
The safest place for full-blown sex is the Ajose Lecture Theatre, which provides opportunities for quick sex because it is desolate at night. The Faculty of Pharmacy, Old and New Buka Complexes are other areas where quick sex could be had. Pharmacy was not originally favoured because it used to host campus Christian groups. It, however, lost its innocence when former Vice Chancellor, Professor Roger Makanjuola, ordered the relocation of the Christian groups. But the appeal of the place is tempered by its remoteness. “Most girls would rather follow you to places other than Pharmacy at night. It is too quiet and distant. You can’t blame them because anything can happen and it is better to be where one can easily get help when one needs it,” a student explained.
Outside the campus, Cool Spot, located close to the Post Office at Lagere, is the home of call
girls. Many of these are from the Obafemi Awolowo University. The girls are into runs, a euphemism for transactional sexual relationships. A student, who identified himself as Joshua, told this medium, that the call girls provide men the opportunity to sample something different from the regular campus girls.
