Something glorious has happened in Edo state of Nigeria. Something spectacular has dawn on us. What a glorious day? What’s spectacular? It’s because Justice finds its freedom in the hearts of men and women with unyielding bent for the truth.

Today, I say no forces on earth no matter how powerful could dim the light of justice forever. . No matter how daunted the dark clouds maybe, the light of justice finds a way through when the clock of darkness expires. This is because the life of justice is sustained by ordinary men and women emboldened in courage and truth, unguided by the forces of falsehood and greed.

Today, Edo State and its innocent people have found a new utterance. It's very rear in history, when the voice of a people suppressed by the might of evil finds freedom without violence. Good gracious. That new utterance is Mr.Oshiomole, and that freedom is you. And Edo people owe some of you a great deal of gratitude’s to those of you who refuse to bow to the overwhelming lures of slush money.

Mr. Oshiomole's victory is not for one singular party or one singular ethnic enclave, his victory is for those who have waited in baited breath for justice to rain down like mighty stream. Well, I say it's time now for you to exhale. Sing if you have to, dance if you have to, clap your hands if you have to, you are allowed to exhale, because the work ahead is enormous, it would take all of us - both believers and non-believers in justice to overturn the pervasive reign of poverty, diseases, and threat to public safety. Mr.Oshiomole Edo state governor elect, needs you to help fight the creeping creature of greed no matter where its coming from. This is our chance, this is our time, and this is our moment. Change has com, from America to Africa, Europe, Asia, Middle East, etc.

Voices of change, justice for the voice less, “Yes We Can,”

“Voices of Change in Nigeria”
We join all democrats worldwide to celebrate this monumental victory for democracy, and victory for Edo state indigenes. We are rest assured that the fundamental principle of democracy which is entrenched in “power of the people, by the people and for the people” is now fully operational in Edo State .

Once again, the judiciary has rekindled our trust and hope in the new Nigeria legal system. Therefore, we salute the Nigerian Judiciary for their impartial interpretation of the law and for recognising and upholding the Edo State electorate’s choice for Governor.

Long live Edo state of Nigeria

This is a victory for the people, victory for Edo state and lastly, we commend the judiciary for standing steadfast and also for giving our people that hope is completely not lost.

Finally, let thank Prof. Senator, Gov. Osunbor for his service. The judiciaries have decided and affirm the voice and decision of the people. We kindly ask you to work with the governor elect, Mr.Oshiomhole so as to have a smooth transition. We also plead with all Edo people to pursue peace. Long live Edo people!

Democracy now!
The sprits of change are sweeping across the globe. I salute the courage, steadfastness and tenacity of the Edo people during the past 18 months. We urged all to continue to uphold the rule of law, particularly during the transitional periods ahead.

Congratulations to Governor Oshiomhole and everyone who made this historical victory possible. Now that the long drawn-out fight is over and won, Edo people must rally round the new administration to usher in the much awaited and much deserved democratic dividends.

From the governor elect
I dont have words to express the depth of my gratitude but today I want to say that in all, this country is worth dying for, today I have benefited from a courageous judiciary and I have the duty to ensure that the good people of Edo state who have stood by us over the past two years, who have suffered all kinds of deprivation that now that we have opportunity, we will repay them through good governance and ensure that in all that we shall do, only the people and people alone shall matter in our administration. I want to thank you the media for all the support you have given I know how much you put in to ensure that our side was heard in the face of all the manipulation by our opponents and as you can see, they say tough times don't last but tough people do. Today, the truth have prevailed and I am happy that I have been able to fulfill one of the very first promise we made to Edo people that we will defend their votes, today the votes have counted, for the first time in the life of Edo people, they can beat their chest to say this government was the result of our ballot paper, I will give thanks to god for that…" Adam Oshiomhole

Nigeria
I am an American minister, who visited Nigeria in 2006. My prayer, since that visit has been for the Nigerian people, especially the youths.

May I say congradulations to all the youths. YOUR TIME HAS COME FOR THE LIGHT TO SHINE ON YOU. YOU can do anything. YES YOU CAN!!

I was a bit discouraged by all of those who use "scamming" , in Nigeria to prosper, BUT I SEE a great change that will be brought forth by the YOUTHS, to change how the world sees or did see Nigeria. I love Africa and eagerly awaits the blessings that are coming to all Nigerians.

In His love, Linda

Yes, We Trully Can. . !!!
Liinda

God Bless you for those words of encouragement. . . . and thanks for believing in us. It think, you're much more better than those who see every Nigerian as a fraud, scammer, rogue etc. It's pretty unfair.

I believe it's a New dawn in Africa and there is the sound of change everywhere, yes, there is, but it only takes those with the eyes of an eagle to see it! So let's watch out for more CHANGES.

Yes We Can bring down the change that the world expect to see in Africa, World.

Yes We Can.

"Wind of change is blowing in Nigeria. Thanks to Barack Obama"
I appreciate greatly your comments. Here again we need to look at the bigger picture when we stack and compare "who is who" in the annals of morally bankrupt people. Nigerians in my humble opinion, some of us may be offended when a stranger assert to the fact that Nigerians are liars, deceitful or unethical in their dealings with other people. The fact is, not all Nigerians engage in these types of behaviors. However, the brutal truth is, one (1) in five (5) Nigerians are shady in their dealings with the outside world. Hence, this gives the general notion that most Nigerians are morally bankrupt and thus we are bundled and judged as such.

In my opinion, by simply saying every Nigerian around the world is guilty of numerous crime activities indicates a mind of a person(s) stuck in denial mode or an oxymoron.
Again, there is no perfect society which is free of morally dysfunctional as far as the world is concerned.

Corruption must be eradicated
I believe the time has come for change in every corner of the world. I need to say it here; however that Nigeria is not the most corrupt country in the world. Nigeria ranks below so many countries that have been tag as corrupt nations. And most of the corruption in Africa is as a result of our corrupt political class, which is no more news in the globe coupled with fact we are stealing from what is in the news.

Scamming in other part of the world should not be exempted. We have cases of people ripping you off with phone calls or mystery shopper things. We had cases of people hacking other countries major computer system and stealing etc; therefore, generalizing 160 million Nigerians being corrupt is unacceptable in any ramification.

Long live Nigeria, and Africa

We can,but corruption must be eradicated.'Yes,we can'
I’m not writing this piece to justify fraud. I will blame the political class for the woes of Nigerians. In the Nigeria of our founding fathers (Professor Obafemi Awolowo, in blessed memory, and co), education was promoted food etc. But with this do or die apostles, they use corruption to fight corruption. Our senators are sharing billions filled with bills of our highest currency denomination while FOI bill could not be passed in years.

Dear One. I love Nigeria. Please don't think that I think ALL NIGERIANS are like the scammers of Nigeria. I have spoken with some scammers and explained to them, that there are good people in Nigeria, and when they scam, whether it is in Nigeria, or in other countries on the internet, they make Nigeria look bad and people are afraid to trust.

As one person said, "scamming is all over, in every other country. Nigeria is not alone. But Nigeria is the country that God has laid on my heart. While on my visit to Nigeria, I met WONDERFUL, TRUTHFUL and HONEST youths. I left Nigeria loveing them and praying for that kind of youth to be examples to the rest of Nigeria. And I feel deep within my heart that it is the youths that will change Nigeria. Not only will they change others, but they will be the example of careing for others. Without careing for others, nothing will change because the focus will be for self.

I believe that this group of youths will cause others to think, and to truely LOVE. My prayers are with you all.

Thank You.
Linda Keith,
You're loved, thanks very much, you've just made my day! (smiles).

I'm so eager for that change. . .I really pray it manifests sooner than the world expect. "It shall be done and It must be done." It's the voice of change.

Cheers

Nigeria will survive
Hello Linda, I am hereby reassuring you and everyone, in my heart of heart; I passionately believe that Nigeria will survive despite our anxiousness. I really have strong believe that Nigeria is very durable; no amount of insults, and economic sanctions would stop Nigeria’s march to full recovery. But criticism of Nigeria is in-house; I don't and would never criticize Nigeria unjustly. If there's something I learn about Americans, It's their inherent objection to anyone who speaks ill about America even when they are complaining to you. And I have developed same with them.

So, on the subject of Nigeria, she would survive. Our condemnation is just as superficial as a mother chastising her son. We're living on hope for a better change of tomorrow Nigeria. Our criticism comes out of love and desperation. That may be in our lifetime Nigeria would at least be liveable, so that we, the older generation could at least end our last days in the comfort and bosom of our beloved
country Nigeria.

I'm a proud Nigerian!
I still believe that Nigerians are the most God fearing and tolerance people on earth, after many case studies. I am but a concerned and proud Nigerian. I am a proud Nigeria as proud could be. And there’s no justification - absolutely no justification to disparage an entire nation as corrupt. “People may doubt what you say, but they will believe what you do”. Therefore, to transgress a nation's credibility by ignorant statement should not be rationalized by any right-thinking person. The criminal actions of few Nigerians which are easily done elsewhere in the world should not suffice as a threshold to class everyone as criminals.

Yes, Nigeria being one of the richest nations in the world has been ruled by me who do not care about the people. Our leaders has done nothing absolutely to improve the lives of the common man on the street, especially the youths, thereby creating fertile ground for all kinds of wrong doings. The youths are the future of tomorrow, therefore, they must be protected and it’s of importance that our leaders need to urgently readdress the roots of the problems, before it gets too late.

A new born child in Nigeria can tell you what the problems in Nigeria are, the problem we have always had is the solution, the way forward. In our search for solutions, we have to probably break up the complex problems that confront us by trying to answer the small questions before moving to the big ones! Our questioning should be multidirectional, not the unidirectional approach we try to take most times.

S.Ojeremen and Ikaehota
I feel that some think that what I have said, that I said as insults to Nigerians. It is not true. As for IF you pointed out, IN LOVE, something wrong in America, I would not feel insulted, because if what you say was true, I WOULD KNOW IT BEFORE YOU SAID IT TO ME.

Actually, I will be leaving this blog group. I thought it for all to be honest with each other, for the good of change, and as it turms out so often, TRUTH will only be tolerated as long as MY truth satisfies YOUR truth.

I did not mean to insult any of you. I was just sharing, out of my love for Africa. Sorry if I did. I will not post again. So carry on.

In God's love, Linda

Lets come together as one!
Dear Linda,

It’s unfortunate that you took my comments wrongly. First I need to bring to your attention that I’m not attacking you for any reason, my stance remained that I love my country Nigeria like any other person will love he/her country. Linda, I so much appreciate your comments, and I’m also very glad that you visited Nigeria and confirmed by yourself that all Nigerians are not the same as being told. In every society, you have the bad guys and the good guys. The only problem I have with Nigerian critics is generalization period.

Some time ago, I called a European friend who travelled to Nigeria for a research. But I was very surprised that he said to me, my friend I love this country, and he said again to me, I think I need to renew my visa, probably apply for a resident permit. Wow!

Let’s do a little bit of Chemistry: You know that when you put kerosene and water (both are liquids) in a container that stands still, both liquids will form separate layers. So, Linda lets forget all the wrong comments made, while I regard you as a friend of Nigeria and Africa. Please continue to pray for us, and thanks for your comments.

Best regards,

S.Ojeremen

We must appreciate our country first
I thought I was alone in my thinking. No matter how big a spoon is, it can not call a spade! What is wrong is wrong. Nobody is going to love Nigeria more than we Nigerians. With what is going on around us, the good, the bad and the ugly, there is an Overriding Phrase you cannot take away from an Average American.....And that is, “God bless America ". As a matter of fact, you and I are unconsciously made to read and bless this country. Little wonder then that America still continues to be great country because the voice of men is the voice of God. If you call your calabash a broken one, people will use it as a dust bin. We should not condemn Nigeria to a premature death. To this end, I kindly would like to say to Linda, that my comments don not have anything to do with her vision’s, I am being general here, and I thank you for your comments so far.

Respectfully,

plato123 Owulezi
